Friends connects readers with books and authors through
our ongoing efforts to support the Library. As
a result, we frequently host book and author events. We
have a special connection with Bay Area authors. Each
spring, Friends honors over thirty talented writers
as Library Laureates.
Throughout the year, we host special events for members with well-known authors and we frequently offer public
readings to highlight new and established writers at
our bookstores. And
each January, Friends remembers those writers who died
in the previous year with our Writers
Remembered event.
All of these events help strengthen our connection with community and our ability
to support the San Francisco Public Library.
