Book Bay Bookstores
Each year, Friends receives nearly half a million
donated books, which we in turn resell to the public
through two bookstores and a number of book sales – including
the largest book sale on the west coast. All proceeds benefit the Library and many books are
donated to schools and other non-profit organizations.
Notable books are offered to the special collections
of the Library.

At the historic Fort Mason Center on the San
Francisco waterfront, Book Bay Fort
Mason features a wide variety of
books, magazines, music, and videos, all reasonably
priced from as low as $1. We also carry a selection
of first editions. Stock changes almost daily,
so come by and shop often.
