Friends Raising Funds

Your investment helps Friends support exemplary programs and services at the San Francisco Public Library that are free and open to everyone. Your support will also ensure the best equipment and resources for our libraries and library staff.  

There are many ways to contribute through Friends to the San Francisco Public Library:

Stocks & Appreciated Securities
You may quickly and easily make a gift of securities (stocks, bonds, or mutual funds) to Friends. For more information, contact the Friends office at 415-626-7500.
 

Matching Gifts
Your employer might match your gift to Friends. To determine whether you are eligible, contact your employer's human resources department.

 
Planned Gifts
Visit our Planned Gifts page to learn about gifts of your assets through your will or other estate plans.
 
Donate Your Books
We need your books!  Friends sells donated books at our two bookstores and numerous book sales to help raise funds for the San Francisco Public Library.  You can help by donating your books, which will be passed on for others to enjoy and also help raise funds for the Library.
